Abstract

Globally exploited and accessible markets on the one hand and the availability of easy to use and ubiquitous information and communication technologies (ICT) on the other hand enable companies to select partners according for enterprise collaboration to fulfil particular customer demands. Temporary limited collaboration between legally independent companies basing on the intensive use of ICT is called Virtual Organisation (VO). The more complex the VO and its task are the more important is ICT support. However, a sound technical infrastructure alone is no guarantee that the VO fulfils the defined objectives. The benefits of the ICT infrastructure can only be obtained if the partners interact with each other in an appropriate way and make use of the ICT. So, the objective of this paper is to highlight the characteristics of collaboration performance in VOs that have to deal with complex tasks and therefore rely intensively on ICT
