Abstract

The economic growth and the increased quality requirements in the wind turbine
industry leads to the development of new technical and manufacturing methods. State-of-technology are predominantly manual operations in combination with vacuum-assisted-resin-infusion (VARI). Dry fibre-textiles are positioned in a mould
with the abscission film and a mesh like distribution layer. After sealing with film the
layers are evacuated in a procedure called vacuum bagging for the infusion process.
The positioning of the dry fibre materials is a further manual process with the result
that the quality depends on the knowledge and work method of the executing
employees.
