Abstract

This paper addresses the need for tracking and tracing in the endof-li-fe phase of product lifecycle management. It specifically addresses the recycling of plastic products, such as automobile bumpers. The paper begins by briefly describing the state-of-the-art in product lifecycle management in this field. It then presents an approach to product lifecycle management in a specific plastics end-of-life scenario in describing a proposal for a supporting system architecture. The scenario is then described in scene-by-scene detail, highlighting how the proposed approach is expected to modify and improve the current scenario.
